Yamaha custom saxophone necks allow a player to fine tune the feel and sound of his or her horn. Lacquer is standard. Silver plating makes the sound "brighter" with the harmonic overtones becoming even more apparent and adds a quick response. Gold plating makes the sound richer and more resonant.
