VP Ecommerce

The VP Ecommerce is responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to manage and direct all aspects of the ecommerce business. This includes, among other things, strategizing, budgeting, planning, managing annual operating plans, monitoring performance analytics, website traffic, product performance, and recalibrating as required to meet objectives. As an ecommerce leader, the ideal candidate should be an expert in online sales strategies and the various platforms used to conduct digital sales or conversions on a website.

The foundation of our ecommerce business is in place, your key deliverables will be to grow this business, customer engagement, and expand into the U.S. marketplace. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of the Executive Leadership Team reporting to the CEO and will work especially close with the VP Marketing.

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Develop, execute, and manage all aspects of a strategic ecommerce plan; combine existing expertise in sales, marketing, technology, and management to deliver a consistent superior shopping experience for all customers
  • Oversee the ecommerce area of the website working closely with the team; manage the overall user experience, site navigation, content development, checkout funnel, and promotional campaigns in conjunction with the Marketing Team
  • Participate in building and directing a team of ecommerce professionals that can effectively help develop and execute creative ecommerce solutions
  • Direct integrated campaigns that will deliver an increase in conversion rates, overall order size, and managing margin performance across a variety of product lines
  • Work with the VP Marketing to manage Internet marketing solutions, social media integration, SEO, and other monitoring methodologies and analytics
  • Provide thought leadership, innovation, and process optimization initiatives such as implementing ecommerce software and other industry best practices

  • Lead a U.S. ecommerce strategy: roadmap, budgets, planning, and operational requirements, as well as defining launch and sustain activities
  • Balance resources and budget to appropriately support revenue growth goals
  • We will be migrating to a new platform and you will be responsible for the successful transition
  • Play a key role in our go-to-market strategy and maintain a close relationship with the brand management and sales teams, representing the digital consumer and ecommerce efforts in the process

Educational Sales Consultant

Reports to: Educational Services Division Manager

The Educational Sales Division at Cosmo Music is a leader in promoting music education. Our team’s mission is: To become an indispensable partner to school music educators across Canada in building healthy, flourishing music programs by providing comprehensive, convenient, and effective service solutions.

Educational Sales Consultants are the face of Cosmo Music throughout schools across the GTA and beyond. The primary role is to build a customer base through adding school accounts while maintaining current ones with excellent customer service/experience.

We are seeking an individual with strong sales abilities, interpersonal skills, and account management to work with our school accounts. A successful candidate will also possess the ability to manage time wisely to maintain an excellent level of customer satisfaction while dealing with a high volume of schools.

Key Deliverables:

  • An improved customer experience - through efficient and effective turnaround of customer correspondence, fulfilment of orders, and delivery of services
  • A higher level of customer satisfaction - through continual self-evaluation, analyzing successes and failures, to consistently deliver services at the highest level
  • An increase in revenue - constantly seeking out areas for growth, managing time effectively, and allowing for more time to seek new accounts
  • Explore and cultivate alternatives to traditional in person school visits, with a focus on maintaining and building strong customer relationships in the evolving service environment, using technology as a primary tool

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company at the school level by facilitating service, sales, and rental solutions
  • Promote the band instrument rental program as an excellent tool for building and maintaining strong school music programs
  • Promote the sale of consumable supplies, i.e. reeds, mouthpieces, and method books, as well as instrument purchases, PA, sound equipment, and repertoire
  • Offer support and advice on a myriad of situations that arise in a school music classroom, i.e. troubleshooting instrument issues
  • School visits (as required) to consult with teachers and to pick up and return instrument

Manager - People, Performance, and Culture

The Manager guides and manages the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs; and is responsible for the following functional areas: Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, talent management, and ensuring we are a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll

  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for hourly, salary, and commission employees
  • Maintain records and track vacation time, paid emergency time, and banked time
  • Prepare payroll month end reports and post to ERP system
  • Maintain employee records/files (in HRIS and/or hard copy)
  • Year-end payroll administration (T4s, annual returns)

Training and Development

Organizational Development

  • Develop and monitor an annual budget for employee recognition, benefits, and social events

  • JHSC Member focusing on safety, welfare, wellness, and health
  • Conducts investigations regarding employee complaints or concerns
  • Maintain and recommend the company wage and salary structure and pay policies

Key Deliverables in the First Six Months:
To support the organization in its continued growth and evolution, our HR/Payroll technology infrastructure is targeted for updating. This individual will be working closely with the COO and HR/Payroll resources available to them in managing this process. So having a good understanding of payroll and HR will be important along with a technical aptitude.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge in employment/labour laws, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, training, employee relations, safety, and wellness
  • Prior hands-on experience in payroll processing (salary and hourly) and knowledge of accounting interface
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Responsibilities include representation at our retail rental department, transport, and delivery/setup/operation/dismantle/removal of Audio, Video, Lighting, Backline, and Staging equipment to ensure our client’s events are a success
  • Our success relies on you delivering service beyond our client’s expectations – every time – you are expected to have a neat and professional appearance and ensure accuracy and efficiency when dealing with internal systems and outside vendors
