For the Jargar cello strings we use a special, flexible steel core.
All cello strings - A, D, G, and C - are wound with thin threads of metal - aluminium, copper and different alloys. The strings produce a warm, brilliant and powerful tone.
The G and C strings are also available with an upper winding of pure silver, which makes the sound more like that of gut strings. These strings are more expensive than the standard strings. We call them "Silver."
All cello strings are made in 3 tensions:
Forte: Red colour in the ball end and blue colour in the peg end
Medium: blue colour in both ends
Dolce: Green colour in both ends
However, cello G Silver and C Silver are always yellow in the peg end
Approximate diameters of medium strings:
A: 0.75mm
D: 0.98mm
G: 1.17mm
C: 1.71mm
G Silver: 1.15mm
C Silver: 1.69mm
The Forte strings are a little thicker and the Dolce strings a little thinner than the medium strings
Jargar cello strings are only produced for full size instruments.
