The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Theory Exam Prep Classes

The Cosmo School of Music is once again running our online comprehensive weekday course to prepare students for the RCM Level 8 Theory Exam this summer. This course, taught by a member of the RCM College of Examiners, will cover Levels 5 through 8 Rudiments to prepare students of all beginner/intermediate levels for this exam. We are also running a special session of the Grade 9 Harmony course for those students wanting to work towards their advanced theory exams.

Did you know that RCM Practical & Theory exams may count towards Canadian high school credits?

A maximum of 1 Grade 11 university/college preparation music credit may be awarded towards the OSSD for the successful completion of the following:

  • Level 7 Practical and Level 7 Theory, The Royal Conservatory Certificate Program

A maximum of 1 Grade 12 university/college preparation music credit may be awarded towards the OSSD for the successful completion of the following:

  • Level 8 Practical and Level 8 Theory, The Royal Conservatory Certificate Program

Levels 5–8 Comprehensive Theory (Online Class)

Dates:

Sundays from September 25 to December 18, 2022

Holidays: Note there is no class on Sunday, October 9 (Thanksgiving Holiday)

The class on Sunday, October 16 may need to be rescheduled due to a potential schedule conflict.

Time:

Noon to 2:30 pm

Class Hours:

30 hours (2.5 hours x 12 classes).

Education: Master of Arts in Music Theory and Bachelor of Arts (Honours Specialization in Music), Western University; ARCT Diploma (Piano Performance), The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM)

Languages: English

Daisy holds a Master of Arts in Music Theory and a Bachelor of Arts Honors Specialization in Music from the University of Western Ontario. She also holds an ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance from The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM).

Daisy is an RCM certified teacher in piano, theory, harmony, and music history and is a member of the RCM College of Examiners as a theory examiner. She has guided students to achieve outstanding examination results and recognitions, including the RCM National Gold Medal for Excellence in Theory. Furthermore, Daisy is interested in music theory pedagogy.

In her spare time, she enjoys running and looking after her spirited beagle.
