Challenge

CosmoFEST is Canada’s premier musical instrument & gear exhibition and celebration of live music. Cosmo Pro manages both the large outdoor festival Main Stage, as well as the Artist Clinics that take place in our more intimate Cosmopolitan Music Hall.

It’s six months of planning for one day of awesomeness, indoors and outdoors. The Main Stage performs to an audience of 5,000, while the Artist Clinics inspire an audience of 240. Both areas host a full day of professional touring artists simultaneously and Cosmo Pro works diligently to fulfill the technical needs of each – ensuring each performance is a success.

Solution

For the Main Stage, we bring a large technical team of 16 people to build the massive outdoor stage, then hang world-class sound and lighting systems that meet the stringent requirements of touring artists like Big Wreck, I Mother Earth, Kim Mitchell, Honeymoon Suite, Meghan Patrick, The Beaches, April Wine, Sloan, and more. To keep change-over time between artists as short as possible, we work with their technical teams from planning to execution, so artists can focus on their performance.

For Artist Clinics, our music hall is already equipped with state-of-the-art audio and lighting gear, and our team works meticulously to ensure each artist’s needs are met. Each clinician is alone on stage with the spotlight directly on them – so they need to know they can trust our team to do what they need, exactly when the artist needs it. Highlighted artists include Nicko McBrain (drummer from Iron Maiden), Nita Strauss (guitarist for Alice Cooper), and Omar Hakim (drummer for dozens of songs we all know).
