Throughout his career, Landau's 1959 Stratocaster, affectionately known as Coma, has been his constant companion and artistic tool. He discovered the guitar at a local Los Angeles guitar shop when he was 16. The instrument had a refinished body and different pickups, giving Landau the freedom to customize it to match his evolving musical style. The guitar's distinct features include its Coma Red finish and the Coma graphic drawn with a permanent marker. Over the years, the guitar has undergone various modifications, including changes to pickups, electronics, hardware configurations, and bridges.
