The Conn 10DY pays homage to Carl Geyer's revered vintage instruments, embodying their sound and design. Constructed with cartridge brass and century-old bell dimensions, it echoes tradition. Unlike typical horns, its mouthpipe is directly soldered to the bell, giving the 10DY a distinctive resonance and response.
The redesigned mouthpipe offers comfortable resistance, reducing player effort and boosting endurance. Its small-throated “Schmidt”-style bell effortlessly projects a compact, clear sound, ideal for orchestral backdrops or blending seamlessly in chamber ensembles.
Preserving Mr. Geyer's classic essentials, the 10DY incorporates subtle modern touches. CNC-machined mouthpiece receivers ensure precise fittings, while refined manufacturing techniques enhance consistency. Practical additions like an adjustable finger hook and mouthpipe water key prioritize comfort during performances.
