Ovation’s 4-string bass guitar features a solid-spruce top with scalloped X-bracing for superior note definition, and its classic Mid-Depth cutaway composite body delivers balanced acoustic tone and is comfortable to hold and play. Soundports on the bass-string side of the instrument enhance lower-frequency projection. The bass also features a satin-finished maple neck and a black-stained rosewood fretboard. Assuring correct string tension and intonation, a full 34” scale delivers harmonically rich timbres across the instrument’s entire range. With its onboard compressor, the OP-Pro Studio preamp provides control over the attack and sustain of every note.

- Play to test that action meets factory specifications; listen and feel for any buzzing, intonation issues or uncomfortable playability.
- Feel for sharp fret edges.
- Inspect finish.
- Confirm all electronics, pots and switches function appropriately.
- Confirm all mechanical operations work properly including whammy bars, fine tuners and built in tuners.
- Inspect construction.
- Inspect condition of the strings.
- If powered by a battery, confirm it is at full strength.
- Humidify if necessary.
- Technician signs the tag to confirm that all details have been completed.
