Live Stream: Taylor Guitars

It is always a pleasure to speak with Ryan McMullen of Taylor Guitars. He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and Taylor passion (if you haven't seen his latest video with Cosmo, be sure to check out his all-koa Taylor 700 Series demo review video). Ryan joined us live with our own Rob Vendrasco on a tour of the Taylor room from The NAMM Show. Many of these guitars are also available here at Cosmo Music.

"You can just see the beautiful look of it. Sometimes you hear with your eyes. You just can't help it, you just love the way it sounds, the way that it looks."

"When Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug were kids, Kurt was 21, Bob was 19, that's when they started Taylor Guitars, and they bought the company from where they worked, and that was called American Dream. That's where the name comes from, because this is our roots."

"We like to refer to this as the Andy Powers Director's Cut. So Andy is a fantastic player. Not only is he a great builder (and a good surfer for what I hear), but also a wonderful guitar player too. What he said was "these are things that I want in a guitar, these nice subtle appointments that make the enjoyment of playing the guitar that much better."

The Koa 700 Series at Cosmo Music

Ryan McMullen of Taylor Guitars recently stopped by to take a close look at the new 700 series all-koa models in our store. Check out our look at the compact 722ce and the versatile 724ce in our demo review.

From Taylor

This Taylor showdown spotlights three beautifully crafted Grand Auditorium models from our Builder's Edition collection: the Builders Edition 324ce, featuring Urban Ash back and sides and a mahogany top; the Builder's Edition 614ce, which sports figured maple back and sides and a torrefied spruce top;  the Builder's Edition K24ce, made with figured Hawaiian koa back, sides and top.  Taylor's Aaron Dablow and Daniel Fraire do the honors, with Aaron detailing some of the ergonomic playing features that elevate the Builder's Edition playing experience, including a beveled armrest, contoured cutaway, and chamfered body edges. Daniel's strumming and finger-picking play-through demos let you hear and compare the tonal personalities of each.
