
THE MUSIC GARDEN

The Music Garden is an early childhood music and movement program full of songs, laughter, imagination and inspiration. Through high quality musical experiences children will develop a kinesthetic sense of musicality rooted in joyful play.
This program will lead children to a lifelong appreciation for music and the arts, and provide them with the skills to pursue vocal, instrumental or dance classes with confidence and excitement.
Every class will inspire you and your child with:
- singing games
- rhymes
- creative movement
- dance
- instrumental exploration
- listening
Fall + Winter bundle: 28 weeks, $280
Fall session only: 12 weeks, $126; starts week of Sep 13, 2010
Winter session only: 16 weeks, $168; starts week of Jan 10, 2011
Note:
- Children must be the appropriate age by October 1, 2010.
- Their is no experience necessary to join any of our Music Garden classes.
- One adult may accompany each registered child; siblings and visitors are not permitted.
Apple Seeds - 6 weeks to 12 months
(parent and child; 45 minutes)
For the youngest children, age 6 weeks to 12 months, classes inspire parent and child with a wealth of traditional bounces, tickles, finger plays, and songs. Movement is included to stimulate baby’s sense of balance and beat while developmentally appropriate instruments are used to enhance the sensory experience of every class.

Bean Sprouts - 12 to 24 months
(parent and child; 45 minutes)
As your one year old grows familiar rhymes and songs will be enriched with new creative movement possibilities and games that nurture the parent-child bond through joyful play. New songs and activities of the highest quality will also be introduced and enhanced with instrumental exploration and live acoustic experiences.

Sweet Potatoes - 24-36 months

Two year-olds will bask in the sense of anticipation and joy they experience through traditional tickles, finger plays, songs, and rhymes. Creative movement is a key element for children at this age, allowing them to express themselves emotionally and artistically. Instrumental play and listening activities complete this class to provide a well-rounded musical experience for every parent and child.

Honey Bees - 36 to 48 months
(parents are welcome but children are encouraged to participate independently; 45 min.)
Three year-old children will be exposed to a palette of carefully selected children’s songs and creative movement that allows for both individual and group participation. Song and speech games are designed to develop each child’s internal sense of beat while creating a playful atmosphere full of whimsy and joy. Instruments and focused listening activities provide an added element of inspiration and musical exploration to engage your preschooler.

Puddle Jumpers - 48 to 60 months
(independent child; 45 min.)
Four year-old children will be swept away in the imaginative world created by music and movement activities that allow children to explore space and time through the elements of music. Singing games and rhymes will be used to develop a conscious understanding of rhythm and coordination while instrumental exploration and listening will open up the world of musical possibility for your child. Singing games are selected for their high quality, their developmental appropriateness and their ability to evoke a sense of satisfaction and joy in all children.
