Quick Overview
Rom Card Kurzweil KDFX Effects BoardProduct Details
Description
KDFX (Kurzweil Digital Effects) combines new, state of the art custom Kurzweil VLSI chips with powerful DSP software algorithms offering K2500/K2600/K2661 owners the best sounding, most expressive, powerful, and creative set of effects available on the planet! (KDFX is built into the K2600/2661 models.) The K2500 KDFX upgrade option includes Kurzweil's custom designed plug in hardware DSP option, along with new software objects, which assign the programs and setups to KDFX. KDFX offers over 100 effects algorithms arranged into 260 effects "presets". Presets are presented in over 150 "studio" configurations. Up to 4 separate stereo effects plus a global auxiliary stereo effect are available. KDFX also includes two separate input EQs for each of the 4 stereo (or 8 mono) buses. The Studio - The Heart of KDFX. At the top level of the KDFX is a new object called a Studio. A Studio is essentially a snapshot of the 16 mono (or 8 stereo) input EQs, 8 mono (or 4 stereo) bus assignments, level and panning (or balance) settings, up to 4 preset effects plus a global auxiliary effect, FX and auxiliary bus send levels, gain control of mix level, and 1/4" audio output jack assignments. In other words, the studio can be configured to process all 8 mono inputs and outputs (A/L, A/R, B/L, B/R, etc.) or, if you are working in stereo, the studio can be configured to operate as a true 4 stereo bus device; any combination in between can also be achieved.
Specifications
