DIRECT BOXES

Radial ProDI and ProD2

The Radial ProDI's are high-quality, full-range passive direct boxes equipped with custom made audio transformers for exceptional signal handling without saturation and with extremely low phase distortion in the critical bass and mid regions. The result is exceptional clarity and definition at an attractive price point. Ultra-compact and made of 14 gauge steel, both ProDI models feature internal I-beam construction with a 'book-end' outer shell for extreme durability in the most demanding environments. Available in single-channel (ProDI) or dual-channel (ProD2) stereo, these exceptional direct boxes offer performance superior to any other DI's in their price range and are ideally suited for use with acoustic guitar, bass and keyboards.

Features:

  • Full range passive direct boxes
  • Isolation transformer eliminates noise
  • Very low harmonic and phase distortion
  • Compact and rugged design
  • Ideal for live sound and studio
  • Mono (ProDI) or stereo (ProD2) models

Radial Pro48 Active Direct Box

Radial Pro 48 Direct Box

The Radial Pro48 is a high-performance 48V phantom powered active direct box designed specifically for today's higher output instruments. The Pro48's inovative digital switching power supply significantly increases headroom and allows for less distortion while yielding a smooth, linear response extending from 20Hz to well above 100kHz resulting in natural, uncolored signal transfer. This superior performance makes the Pro48 an ideal candidate for use with today's battery powered active basses and acoustic guitars that tend to overload other direct boxes.

The compact Pro48 is built road-ready with 14 gauge steel in our unique book-end™ design that provides protective zones around the switches and connectors. The internal welded I-beam construction assures outside stress will not torque the PC board thus assuring longer product life. Exceptional sonic performance, great natural tone at an affordable price; the Radial Pro48 truly represents a breakthrough in value! The Radial Pro48… Blue is True!

Features:

  • High resolution active direct box
  • Increased dynamic range and headroom
  • 48V phantom powered with digital switching
  • Compact, rugged book-end design
  • Ideal for active guitars and basses

Radial JDI Passive Direct Box

The Radial JDI is considered by many to be the world’s finest direct box. It is a passive DI that employs a Jensen isolation transformer for optimum audio performance offering outstanding linearity at all frequencies, combined with extraordinary level handling without introducing distortion. Being completely passive, the plug & play JDI does not require any powering and has the unique advantage of eliminating 60-cycle ground loops. This makes the JDI a definite favorite with informed audio engineers. The JDI is great for guitars, bass, and keyboards and is particularly adept with high-output, broadband instruments such as active instruments and digital keyboards. The JDI may be rack-mounted using the J-Rak and is also available in a stereo (2-channel) version called the JDI Duplex and the 6-channel rack-mountable JD6.

Features:

  • Jensen Transformer equipped passive DI
  • 100% isolation eliminates ground loops
  • Virtually zero phase & harmonic distortion
  • Exceptional signal handling
  • High common mode noise rejection

Radial JDV Mk3 Super DI

The Radial JDV Mk3 is arguably the most advanced and sonically superior direct box made today. With 100% class-A circuit and a 30-Volt internal rail voltage, the JDV combines exceptional sonic quality and unmatched dynamic handling for the most natural and uncolored sound possible.

Designed as a creative tool, the JDV introduces a concept of ‘Zones’ with choice of two inputs, four instrument amplifier outputs, and a unity-gain transformerless output.

Features include Drag control for precise pickup load correction, 3.9 meg-ohm input impedance for piezo pickups, hi-pass and lo-pass filters, full LED status indicators, polarity reverse and all of the other features one would expect from a Radial DI.

The Radial JDV Mk3 is designed for use in both the studio and live performance and is suitable for all instruments where added reach is required and retaining the original sound of the instrument without distortion or coloration is paramount.

Features:

  • Class-A feed forward design
  • Huge 30-Volt internal rail voltage
  • Innovative Drag control
  • Variable impedance to 3.9 Meg-Ohms
  • Unique zoned design concept

Radial JPC™ Stereo PC-AV Direct Box

The Radial JPC is a stereo direct box that has been specifically designed for use with computer sound cards and other consumer electronic products to allow these to be connected to a professional sound system. It is unique in that it combines the advantages of transformer-isolated inputs with an active drive circuit, giving you the best of both worlds in a compact and extremely flexible package.

Transformer coupled inputs have the unique advantage of isolating the source from the destinatio’. This proven approach eliminates 60-cycle hum and buzz caused by so-called ground loops when two pieces of electrically powered devices are connected together. Because the active circuit does all of the impedance conversion and balancing, a dedicated 1:1 transformer can be used. This results in a hybrid design that is at once great sounding, compact and more affordable.

As with all great designs, simplicity is a fundamental trait and the Radial JPC certainly fits the bill. A choice of stereo ¼”, 1/8” and RCA input and thru-put connectors make interfacing a snap with all types of equipment. A single switch inserts a –10dB pad, two power LEDs confirm 48V phantom is turned on, and a pair of XLR output connectors round out the feature set.

Of course like all Radial products, the JPC is built to handle any environment. The book-cover wrap-around sleeve design protects switches and connectors from damage while the 14 gauge steel I-beam construction eliminates stress that could torque the PC board and cause solder joint failure. A full-bottom no-slip pad provides electrical insulation and mechanical isolation with plenty of stay-put for use on hectic stages. And with its baked enamel finish the Radial JPC will continue looking great for years!

Features:

  • Stereo DI for computer sound cards & A/V
  • Transformer isolation eliminates ground loops
  • Converts -10db to balanced XLR mic level
  • Active drive circuit for long cable runs
  • Compact design - may be J-Rak mounted
  • 48V phantom power eliminates batteries
  • Ultra rugged 14-gauge steel construction
