Cash Supervisor / Giftware & Apparel Department Head

Cosmo Music is seeking an energetic, responsible and motivated individual to lead our Giftware & Apparel Department and oversee retail transactions at the Point of Sale.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years retail or industry experience, be customer service oriented, have a good base-knowledge on current industry trends and technologies and be interested in working in, and creating a welcoming and positive retail experience for Cosmo Music customers.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Co-ordinating all Front Cash and Giftware Department activities on a day-to-day basis
• Overseeing direct day-to-day operations of the department including staff schedules, inventory management, sales processes
• Assuming the responsibilities of the Retail Manager in his absence (including arming the building and closing duties)
• Assisting in the management, training & development, and performance evaluation of the Giftware & Apparel Department staff
• Addressing any client’s inquires and customer sales transactions
• Interacting with Purchasing, Educational and Lessons’ Divisions

Qualifications include:

• Excellent organizational abilities; can prioritize and meet timelines in a busy environment
• Thorough knowledge of Credit Card machines, Financing options, Windows based software, and emerging ‘method of payment’ technologies
• Exhibit superior interpersonal, client relations skills
• Ability to anticipate situations and problem-solve independently
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong detail orientation
• Experience in merchandising and traffic flow management
• A good working knowledge of Excel and an ability to learn Windows-based proprietary software
• Availability to work evenings and weekends
