    Right next door to the Sonor Booth was Sabian... who do I see walking around smashing the “snot” out of his new signature cymbal, was none other than my idol Chad Smith!(I have the picture to prove it.) Dubbed the “Holy China”, this cymbal quite possibly might be the loudest china available today. It is available in 19” and 21” versions with over 40 holes punched out of it. My ears are STILL ringing (warning to all our young drummers reading this: WEAR HEARING PROTECTION ALWAYS!).

  • Pick of the Month: The Limited Edition 40th Anniversary Yamaha Washi Kit

    In 2007 Yamaha Manufactured the Michelangelo of drum sets. Introducing the 40th Anniversary Washi Kit. This beauty is truly a piece of art!
    The 100% Hokkaido birch shells are wrapped with ancient Japanese tapestry and meticulously hand-laid. Each drum depicts a different battle scene from the Genpei war.
    The snare is 14”, the toms are 10”, 12”, 14”, and 16” with a 22” kick featuring 6-ply birch, 60 degree bearing edges and 19-ply vintage wood hoops.
    This combination of ancient Japanese art, legendary hand craftsmanship, and state-of-the-art drum manufacturing proudly honors Yamaha’s long history of constructing the world’s finest drums.
