    Posture is fundamental in string playing. Without correct posture students cannot master the physical skills necessary to develop basic string technique. Poor posture will cause discomfort, limit technical facility and may eventually cause pain and injury.
    Young violinists do not have the physical endurance to hold up a violin that is too long, too wide or too heavy. There are several sizes of violins ranging from the smallest 1/32 to a full size (or 4/4).
