<![CDATA[Pro Brass Instruments ON SALE!]]> Tue, 09 Apr 2013 10:56:12 +0000 Currently we have several select pro instruments on sale in the Band and Orchestra Department here at Cosmo.

Don’t hesitate! There's only one of each in stock!

The following instruments are 10% off until the end of April:

Brass Trombones:

YBL-822G (“Doug Yeo Model”) Yamaha YBL-822G

Toted as “the perfect orchestral bass trombone,” the YBL-822G is versatile enough to be well at home in any ensemble. I’ve heard it used to amazing effect in both jazz ensembles and concert bands.

Specs: Key: Bb/F & Bb/F/D, Bore: LL: 14.30mm (0.563"), Bell: Gold-brass, 241.0mm (9 1/2"), Tuning slide: Gold-brass, Weight: Heavy, Outer slide: Yellow brass, Inner slide: Nickel silver, Finish: Clear lacquer, Offset Valve System(with Removable 2nd Valve)

King 2102 (a.k.a. 2B model)

King 2102

I’ve heard trombone players tell me that they thought the 2B was no longer made! Not so! Conn-Selmer – who makes King instruments – has renamed the instrument the 2102. This is THE jazz trombone that other manufacturers have been copying since it’s inception.

Specs: 2B model, .481/.491" (12.22/12.47mm) dual bore, 7-3/8" (187mm) yellow brass bell, nickel silver outer slides, lacquer finish, 12C mouthpiece, woodshell case. This classic jazz trombone is noted for its projection and excellent upper range.

Bach 42BO

Bach 42BO

Another product from Conn-Selmer that has inspired models from other companies. This is your consummate orchestral tenor trombone with an open wrap. You’ve certainly seen and/or heard this exact model on recordings and on stage.

Specs: Stradivarius Tenor Trombone w/F Attachment, "Stradivarius" - Bb/F, .547" bore, 8-1/2" one-piece hand-hammered yellow brass bell, chrome plated nickel-silver inner handslide tubes, brass outer handslide tubes, open wrap "F" section with traditional rotor, clear lacquer finish, genuine Vincent Bach 6-1/2A large shank mouthpiece and zippered Cordura covered wood shell case

Conn 88H-CLConn 88H-CL

Yet another product from Conn-Selmer that has made a huge impact on the back rows of ensembles everywhere. The 88H is one of the traditionally preferred models amongst many professionals. This one is outfitted with an open wrap and the phenomenal Christian Lindberg CL2000 valve. I like this valve because the action on it is very short and smooth.

Specs: Conn "Symphony" - .547" bore, 8-1/2" rose brass bell, open wrap F attachment with patented CL2000 rotor, rose brass outer slide, clear lacquer finish, Bach 5G mouthpiece, 7521C woodshell case.

Trumpet Bach Stradivarius 180S43Bach Stradivarius Trumpet Model: 180S43

The Bach Stradivarius trumpet is the instrument nearly every trumpet player who comes into the band department asks for when they’re shopping for a professional trumpet. You’ll see these in most professional orchestras and bands and in the hands of both jazz and classical musicians. When you hear a trumpet, there’s a very good chance it’s a Bach Strad!

Specs: "Stradivarius" - .459" Medium-large bore, standard weight body, standard weight yellow brass one-piece hand-hammered #43 bell, standard construction #25 mouthpipe, monel pistons, silver-plate finish. Comes with Bach 7C mouthpiece and a zippered Cordura covered wood shell case

The next two instruments are examples of instruments designed by Yamaha’s Bob Malone. He has taken traditional design ideas and tweaked them with the help of some of the world’s most respected and talented musicians. Through a vast amount of research and development (including lots and lots of trial and error), Mr. Malone and Yamaha have brought us some of the most incredible professional trumpets on the market. They’re made to the precise specifications of trumpet players in the legendary Chicago Symphony and New York Philharmonic and now the perfect instruments for players like John Hagstrom and Robert Sullivan are available for the rest of us! Try them and you’ll see why they’re so well received by other pro trumpet players everywhere.
