New Compact Mixers in the Rental Department – Soundcraft MFXi Series!
Posted on March 12, 2012 by Ryan McLeod
I’m happy to say that we’re upgrading our current compact mixer inventory to the new Soundcraft MFXi series! Available in 8, 12 and 20 channel versions, they offer all of the “usual” features at a great price, with a few extras thrown in that make them perfect as everyday tools:
IEC Power Cable inputs (no wall warts!)
Balanced XLR Outputs (no more ¼” converters!)
Four auxiliary sends, including built-in Lexicon Effects… that sound good!
When they say “8, 12 or 20 channels” they mean MONO Mic/Line channels, and they always have at least two more stereo inputs and returns too!
They sound great, thanks to [...] Read more

Posted on February 8, 2012 by Tyler Davis
Here at Cosmo we see and hear mics from nearly every professional manufacturer, which means we have a solid perspective when it comes to picking the best mic for the application.
We love sharing this info with our customers to help them make the right decision the first time, and for those seeking a versatile vocal/instrument mic for recording purposes, the Blue Spark is a simple choice. With boutique styling at a very non-boutique price, it has no trouble drawing attention with its unique aesthetic appeal, but the sound is what really has us excited.
When first testing this microphone, we were [...] Read more

New to the pad-mashing universe is Maschine Mikro from Native Instruments
Posted on October 30, 2011 by James Peck
Mikro offers the same software and sample library as its bigger brother, ‘Maschine’, while providing a more compact unit. Mikro lacks the dual display and some other on-hand controls, but the size of this unit alone makes it a worthy studio piece. With the same tantalizing light-up pads and brushed carbon exterior, it will be sure to catch some attention.
If you are new to Maschine or production in general, the price point of $389 makes this software-hardware combo extremely affordable while maintaining the great sound quality and ease of use as the full Maschine. The sound library is over 7gb [...] Read more

Numark NS6 has Landed at Cosmo!!
Posted on August 26, 2011 by Tyler Davis
I have just unpacked and displayed our brand new NS6 and all I can say is WOW. I will be going over the key things I noticed as soon as I tried it out.
Quality
The first thing I noticed when I took this out of the box was that the quality was outstanding. The buttons are super nice(comparable to club standard Pioneer CDJ’s). The crossfader is buttery smooth, and can be easily replaced if a different feel is needed. The unit also has a nice weight to it which puts me at ease knowing that there is a lot going on [...] Read more

Numark DJ2GO - World's Smallest DJ Controller
Posted on July 6, 2011 by Tyler Davis
This is one of the most revolutionary pieces to hit the DJ market this year. I am going to show you through situational analysis why this is the best piece of gear under $100 to have.
Situation 1- You are a college student who DJs on the side to make some extra cash to pay for your Mac N Cheese meals. You have been asked to put a small set together for one of the dorm parties on campus. Knowing what these parties are like (crazy, frantic, spilled drinks) you choose to leave your expensive kit at home and opt for [...] Read more
