Here at Cosmo Music we get new guitars in almost every day, and often they’re very nice. Every once in a while, however, something really special comes in. In this case, I’m referring to the Ibanez Steve Vai Evo replica guitar.
A guitar hero like Steve Vai can have his pick of any guitar, but since 1993 his guitar of choice both on stage and in the studio has been Evo. The guitar is a combination of a prototype JEM that Ibanez was working on for Vai and Dimarzio Evolution pickups, which were also being developed for the guitarist at the time.
To pay homage to this iconic instrument, Ibanez has made 100 exact replicas of Evo as it is currently, right down to the dings, scrapes, and cracks that are proof of how much Evo actually gets used. Each guitar is signed by Vai and numbered “1 of 100,” and Vai also personally wrote “Evo” on the front of each one (to distinguish the instrument from Flo, which looks almost identical).
This is certainly a must-see guitar for any Steve Vai fan, and the best place to do that is right here at Cosmo Music.
