We just received MOTU’s new and anticipated Mach 5 V 3 universal sampler virtual instrument software!! MOTU has improved the Mach 5 interface and now the included library is 45GB on 7 DVD’s to enjoy!
It has a great one window user interface for great simplicity but it also very deep deep synthesis, unlimited layers and fairly easy scripting to improve your dynamic performance of the larger sounding instruments. One of the main reasons I like it so much is it has universal support for many 3rd party sample formats that I have been using since the late 80’s (aging myself) like Kurzweil, Ensoniq, Roland, Akai including MPC, EMU, but also the new libraries like Apple Loops, Kontakt1-4, Gigasampler, Gargaeband, REX and Logic’s EXS24. It works in AU for Mac systems as well as RTAS, VST and is also standalone in case you want to use it live.
The new F Grand which is a Fazioli acoustic grand sample, sounds great and has been compared to the very popular Synthogy Ivory piano!
What is also cool is MOTU allows users to buy Mach 5 as a Competitive Upgrade in case you already own Logic which uses EXS24, Kontakt ANY version including free versions included in other libraries, Steinberg Halion, Ableton Sampler, EastWest Play, Emulator X2, Gigastudio, Independence, Quantum leap Goliath, Reason NNXT, Ik’s Sampeltank or Avid, Pro Tools Structure!! We currently have it at Cosmo selling for $175 which is an awesome upgrade to anyone’s DAW setup!
