Mikro offers the same software and sample library as its bigger brother, ‘Maschine’, while providing a more compact unit. Mikro lacks the dual display and some other on-hand controls, but the size of this unit alone makes it a worthy studio piece. With the same tantalizing light-up pads and brushed carbon exterior, it will be sure to catch some attention.
If you are new to Maschine or production in general, the price point of $389 makes this software-hardware combo extremely affordable while maintaining the great sound quality and ease of use as the full Maschine. The sound library is over 7gb; complete with loops, patterns, complete kits, and one-shot samples. Some of my favourites are the Abbey Road acoustic drum kits, yet all the preset material is top-notch.
Maschine Mikro is perfect for the beginner to advanced producer or artist. It provides you the tools required to make your own beats, patterns, loops and songs in no time. Whether you’re looking for a flashy piece of gear or a fully functional beat machine, Maschine Mikro may just be for you!
