We are happy to announce the arrival of a new line-up of P. Mauriat Saxophones! These new models are a force to be reckoned with and are receiving wide praise from those who have had the opportunity to try them. The P. Mauriat saxophones are produced out of Taiwan using international materials, such as French Brass, and their own proprietary rolled tone hole process which uses no soldering and draws material from the existing body. A single saxophone bell will be hand hammered as many as 400 times before moving on in production. This process not only makes the metal harder and more rigid, but also gives the P. Mauriat saxophones great resonances, ring, and longer durability.
The P. Mauriat saxophones have been leaving great first impressions and in some cases, such as the Tenor 66R “Influence”, they have been compared in tonality and projection to the Selmer Reference 54 tenor—high praise indeed! The design and production features have given this saxophone line up a deep and rich tone with a flexibility that suits jazz or classical while keeping a free, easy-blowing playability. Most models are offered in a variety of finishes which range from the traditional gold lacquer to the more distinct black nickel, vintage dark lacquer, or Cognac lacquer.
With any instrument purchase an important key is having the instrument set up properly. All the P. Mauriat saxophones (in fact all the instruments) at Cosmo Music are inspected and set-up by our extensive and highly trained tech dept.
