The Custom Z series from Yamaha has been widely popular since its inception and they have recently added to their sax shed with the introduction of the Custom 82Z Soprano. Released in January, 2011, the newest model to join the Custom Z series from Yamaha won ‘Best in Show’ at the 2011 NAMM show in Anaheim, California.
Based on the classic ’62 models in scale and design it also includes modern day innovations such as special brass alloy body for a lighter feel, a resonance enhancing rib plate, and a new lower vent tubing design to reduce noise on lower key action. These additions give the 82Z soprano an even tone and playability in all ranges.
The Custom 82Z is a fixed neck soprano and available in either straight or curved neck configuration. It includes a fine hand engraved bell and is available in four finishes to suit anyone’s style: gold baked epoxy lacquer, silver plated, black lacquer and unlacquered.
For any player looking to make the move to a professional level soprano, the Yamaha Custom 82Z Soprano will not disappoint.
