Cosmo Music Visits with Suhr Guitars
Posted on July 15, 2011 by Andrew Lai
The tops on Suhrs are always amazing. Now we know why! Quality materials and quality craftsmanship make quality instruments! We are told even with a reliable source of Top-graded woods, a certain amount are rejected. Here we have a approved pile of amazing quilted maple.
High tech machinery helps maintain the consistently high standard that is expected from every part of every instrument. Here, we see pickguard templates... which means they can make guards out of exotic woods or materials.A guitar...mid build.
Inside the Electronics Room - which includes Amp builds, effect pedals and pickup builds. Here we see some pickup winding [...] Read more

Eventide Space Now at Cosmo Music!
Posted on July 15, 2011 by Cosmo Music
The new Eventide Space has arrived! Using some of Eventide’s most famous reverb algorithms, this is a must have reverb pedal for all effect junkies. I’ve used many reverb pedals before and must admit this goes way beyond anything I could ask for in a reverb pedal. With settings such as "black hole", "dualverb", and "shimmer" you can create your own movie soundtrack along with beautiful textures that are sure to bring any song to life.
The Space can store 100 patches that can be switched by banking up and down or through a midi controller. What I love most is [...] Read more

Neo Instruments Ventilator - Leslie Simulator
Posted on July 13, 2011 by Rob Cooper
The sound of the Hammond tonewheel organ is highly sought after in many styles of music; gospel, jazz, blues, rock and country all have numerous examples of the classic Hammond sound. What some folks don't realize is that one of the most important factors in achieving that sound is the Leslie cabinet that these are played through.
The Leslie cabinet takes the raw sound of the Hammond organ (or, in fact, any instrument… see "Other Instruments" below) and brings it to life. The classic Leslie cabinets use rotating horns and drums to create a "doppler" effect that animates the organ sound [...] Read more

The New CLP430 Clavinova Digital Piano - Where did all the Control Buttons Go?
Posted on July 12, 2011 by John Ebata
On first glance of the new CLP430, the question was how do I change the sounds. The newest feature of all of the new CLP400 series is one of the most asked for features by piano teachers to hide the buttons so it does not distract the student’s practicing and now it is here with “Panel Reveal Key Cover.”
The sliding key cover now has a rest position partway to hide all the signs of technology inside adding to the more traditional look of the CLP400 series. Under the hood there is a new improved piano sound, a three sensor 88 [...] Read more
