Digital and Acoustic Piano Warranties

Posted on February 8, 2011 by Cosmo Music

Why are there different warranty lengths on digital pianos? Some are only a year and some are 5 years.

Warranty comparison within one brand name is a good reflection of the level of quality the manufacturer has put into the instrument and the products expected life cycle. For instance Yamaha sells many 88-note weighted digital piano models with some of the best warranties in the music industry. Entry-priced models have a two year warranty while premium priced models have a 5 year warranty. The less expensive products contain more plastic and less wood. Casing structure of the lesser models are meant for home usage only and not built to withstand the stresses of gigging and travelling or institutional school use. The durability of the premium products are better with improved keyboard actions, smoother feel and a more responsive touch. Remember, you get what you pay for.

Acoustic pianos warranties include all parts and labour for 5 to 15 years which essentially says the piano will perform like new for at least that long. One major benefit for all purchases made at Cosmo Music, besides a guaranteed low price, is that the store’s size and buying power allows us to carry only quality products. This quality assurance allows us to offer one additional year to the manufacturers warranty for all new purchases of musical instruments.

There’s no time like the present to come in and check out the selection.
