Ibanez JEM20TH Special 20th Anniversary Steve Vai Signature Electric Guitar - Transparent Acrylic with Internal LEDS
The first Steve Vai Signature models, the JEM Series, debuted at the Chicago NAMM show in 1987.  The JEM's were the spearhead of the rebirth of Ibanez that year and the eventual status of Ibanez as one of the top three electric guitar companies in the world.
While the first Ibanez JEM's were lightweight basswood and later the more traditional alder, the new JEM20TH body is fashioned of hand-crafted premium grade clear acrylic with a 3-D interior design which can actually be illuminated by internal green [...]  Read more

  • iSkins are here!!!

Posted on May 11, 2010 by Cosmo Music

So ISkin has some interesting products I had a chance today to test out and I felt compelled to blog it.

The lid of a grand piano should be closed every time you are finished playing it for many reasons. It keeps the dust, dirt and possibly the cats out. Closing the lid also protects the internal action parts with less direct exposure to the environment of sun, heat and humidity - thus providing a more in tune piano. Normally people do not close the grand piano lid because it is too heavy and it is [...]  Read more

  • Record/Reason 4.0 from Propellerhead Software

Posted on May 10, 2010 by Cosmo Music

Reason is a sequencer program that’s midi based with the ability to use effects, synths, drum kits and sampling. Record is somewhat a stand-alone/add on to Reason that enables you to record audio and gives you access to a new mixer view that’s based off the SSL console series, they’ve also teamed up with Line 6 to add guitar and bass amp modeling. When I first used Reason in high school, I didn’t touch anything beyond the preset sounds, drum kits and effects - it was awesome! Now that I’ve taken the time to get into sampling and synthesis I’m [...]  Read more
