NAMM 2010: Yamaha CP-1/ CP5, VCombo VR70 & more

Posted on January 25, 2010 by Cosmo Music

We just got back from NAMM 2010 and there was tons of cool equipment!

The Yamaha CP-1/ CP5 was one that really caught my attention. Awesome features and something you must try yourself! And you're in luck because we should have the CP1 in the store this week to check out.

Roland showed the new VCombo VR700 which is priced right around $2200.00. It's a great live, gigging piano/organ that can have a second keyboard for a better B3 style performance. They also updated the RD700GX with a much better piano sound and a modelled Supernatural card called the RD700GX1.

Nord released the Nord piano which sounded great and the weight was unbelievable!

Spectrasonics announced 1.2 of Omnisphere will now have a whopping 7000 sounds and best of all, it's free to registered users!

A few days before NAMM, Apple announced 9.1 of Logic which is now a 64 bit app. We noticed that was the trend for software companies to update their software to full 64 bit. This means the software can now use the entire memory of your computer for streaming and improving the sound and functionality of the program.

Stay tuned for more news from NAMM 2010!
