My daughter and son currently take guitar lessons. I would just like to let you know that the women at the desk who work on Friday and Saturday evenings are a pleasure to interact with. They are always professional, kind and willing to help. I believe there are two sisters and another young woman (with long hair) that have been nothing short of wonderful to interact with.

Likewise, our teacher, Dan, has had a very positive impression on the kids and they are truly enjoying their lessons with him. He is a very very good teacher.

Please keep up the great work and I hope Cosmo recognises the wonderful folks working there.

January 2013 - Guitar Sales

I just wanted to pass along what a great customer experience I had recently dealing with Maxim Shelkov and Braden Hoey as I purchased a new PRS SE Custom guitar from Cosmo Music. Max provided excellent customer assistance while I tried a number of guitars of the same model. He periodically came by to check to see if I needed any help but also appropriately left me alone to get comfortable trying the guitars. I asked for his assistance in making my selection and his input was a great help. It came down to selecting between two guitars (I was quite certain at that point that I wanted one of them). I liked the looks of one however the other had a slightly better feel. Max took me to Braden for his thoughts on the difference. Braden correctly deduced that the difference was likely due to the older strings on the one I like the looks of. He changed them, made a small setup adjustment and it made each guitar feel as good as the other. But the excellent service from these two fellas didn’t end there. Braden let me know that he noted an issue with the electronics of the one I was about to buy. After investigating he determined that the ground wire connecting to the bridge was making a poor contact. The repair was quite a bit more involved than we thought but Braden stuck with it and did a terrific job of solving the issue. I was there for a couple of hours and all the while Max would come by to see how things were going and to chat when he wasn’t helping other customers. I would have purchased either guitar but the one Braden fixed was the one I truly wanted and I am thrilled to own and his discovery and fixing the wiring issue saved me a trip back to the shop which is quite a drive since I live in Mississauga. Both Max and Braden provided truly exemplary service and ensured one happy customer. The guitar is fantastic… both in looks and playability. What a great buying experience and my thanks to you and your team. I wish each of you all the best for a super 2013 and I look forward to my next visit to your store!

Couple of things I want to share about how amazing Cosmo Music was this weekend in helping me with the wedding. To Ryan and his team. Couldn't have done it without you guys. Jeff again was outstanding in getting everything hooked together for me. I am a bass player, I am use to plugging in an amp and that's it. Rigging up a hall is beyond me, but with Jeff's help and the equipment you guys supplied, I put on a great show (according to all the wonderful feedback I got from the bride, groom and all their guests via text messages the next day). Can you believe I got all of that stuff into a two door civic? Everyone in the Audio rentals department was extremely helpful and provided exceptional customer service.

December 2012 - Instrument Repair

I will only be bringing my guitars to Cosmo for repairs. I have had an ongoing issue with my Banjo's tuning key on the high 5th string, and I believe it was Braedon - applied a simple fix, re-strung it and it works perfectly. Having recently moved to the area from another province I have been looking for a good music store. I am a guitarist/singer/songwriter..with many years experience playing in bands and solo.. I just wanted to say that I have finally found the most amazing music store in Canada..right here...right under my nose..I live in Newmarket.. The staff is great! The techiy who soldered my '83 Schecter input connection was great! Prices are great!! The Larocca Coffee Kiosk is awesome..your website is incredible!...what else can I say? I'd like to thank you for the beautiful work you did on our Besson tuba - a young boy named Nash has played this tuba for the last 3 years and I decided to put some money into it after looking at how expensive it would be to buy a new one. I just receive the tuba from Laura and I went outside to find Nash (he was in gym) so he could come and see it - I can't tell you how excited he is. Was awesome. Very helpful, very timely (even with the horrendous traffic!), and very accommodating - giving us great advice on where to put all the equipment based on the venue size & its dimensions. He even stayed a little bit longer to ensure that our laptop would work with the projector (he was testing with his laptop, as our laptop was running late). March 2012 - Drum Sales

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a DW performance series drumset at Cosmo last week. I was primarily helped by Derrick, Shane and Eugene who were exceptionally knowledgable and attentive. I have been shopping around and am a regular music store explorer and I must say for my first visit to Cosmo I was extremely impressed by the high level of service I received. Derrick was great to deal with and thoroughly answered every question I had an made some suggestions that eventually led me to finding a drum set that perfectly fit my requirements. When I came to pick up the set Eugene helped me load my car and made sure that everything was well padded and secure. I was referred to you by Derrick because I wanted to share how happy I was with the drum teams service. I live in the Hamilton area and it's a very significant feat to have displayed such an excellent performance to the point that I'll be back every time to expand my musical collection. So thanks again for a great shopping experience, I hope that you'll give credit where it's due as I know that it's a very rare experience as a customer. Many music stores I go into I find that I get quite the opposite display of service. Now I'm going to go pound on my drums :) cheers! I look foreword to my next trip to the store.

I was in Cosmo yesterday purchasing a new classical guitar and student violin. Rail and Brianna both did an exceptional job guiding my purchases. Several thoughts come to mind as I recall the experience:

  • Your staff - competent musicians, knowledgeable, courteous, helpful
  • The Facility - even though it's very large, it's organized in a logical fashion so things are easy to find
  • Quality assurance - both Rail and Brianna explained the instruments I was purchasing had gone through a QC process, which was reassuring
  • Service and support - brilliant idea to be able to see the technicians working behind the glass... instills a sense of confidence in the value Cosmo brings to the table

While I'm certain I could have paid less money for the same gear, I am also certain I would not have received the same value. All in all, I had a very positive customer experience (and with 6 kids, I'm likely to be a repeat customer!).

I thought you might appreciate the feedback.

…(we) found that his product knowledge and general educational background contributed to our enjoyment of the consultation experience…..very methodical in his approach to solving our issues and explained all his interventions. This greatly enhanced the knowledge …. He evaluated all our cables, the technology and the software. Before leaving he provided suggestions on the physical arrangement of our equipment and changes to certain cables in order to further improve our sound….. Hey Darrel,

I was looking to use a removable sound hole pickup system and Rail was a great help with that. I wasn't completely happy with the sounds quality so I ended up going with a permanent set up. Darrel was a great help with that and help me to select the LR Baggs Element pick up that worked great in my guitar and my budget. He was super informative and really seemed like he cared about what he was doing and it showed. I would come back for any acoustic guitar issues to Cosmo just to get Darrel's help as I really have come to trust his judgment and service. I am very happy with my latest experience. Darrel's quality of work is awesome and I will be letting my friends know where to go. Thanks to Rail and Darrel and Cosmo of course. The cashier that helped me was very friendly as well. She served me the last two time I was in the store but I didn't get her name.

Please accept my thanks for the Jeff Beck concert tickets from the Fender Jeff Beck contest. I took a friend, who is an avid guitarist and stratocaster player, and fellow Jeff Beck fan, and we enjoyed the show tremendously. The individual musicians were outstanding, and together they were tight, flawless, and energized. The intimate venue of Massey Hall made the experience like having the band over into your living room. After the concert, your guest passes gave us access to an after-show 'meet & greet' where we had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Jeff Beck and his band members.
